WEEK 12.

WEEK 12.

This week was about “Becoming a Change maker” they share with us one of my favorite talks named “Are We Not All Beggars”? By Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Days. And they also helps us to understand what business is truly for and what we can do with it.
They give us this video called “Entrepreneurship and consecration” by Elder Gay. almost at the end of the video talks about how we can help many and how we must consecrate our lives to that, and the happiness that that brings, you can find this video on internet its about 54 minutes but it is truly worth it to watch.
All this completely remind me and give me hope not only for my goals but for my dream. I shared some of them with you in week one which says: I really have to dream or plan in big, but what I'm saying in big, I meaning HUGE!! for example one of my plans is one day to own at less 40 apartments, but my real dream is to have a water plant, and not only one but two in which one of them the 100% of the gains will go to help the needed not only in one country but around the world, and with the gains of the other one to donate 60% of it, starting to the community in which the plant would be, and ones that community is okay I would go and help other community, and with the 40% that will rest that will be for myself and family.
But now with the hope that I have gain I hope to have over or at less 120 apartments and my dream has become to have 3 water plants which from them I will give the 70-80% to help as many as I can.  I know that if I truly put effort in this could be possible mostly with the help of my God.

WEEK 11

WEEK 11.

This week was really good, it made me reflect a lot, have some conversations with a couple friends to help them to see the most important things in this life, and to help me to reaffirm that.

This week we were gave tow small cases which were really good to make you thing in real situations, and we were ask to share it with some classmates.  And that was really good, the reason of sharing it with our classmates is to learn from one another and this week was not the exemption, contrary I feel like I good a lot from it. One of the small cases was this:
It is the night of your seven-year-old daughter’s first dance recital. You have been promising her for weeks that you “wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
An hour before the show, the phone rings, and it is your largest customer. There has been a fire at his plant, and he wants you there immediately. He will not accept anyone else and makes it clear that you will lose his business if you do not come.
What do you do?
Of course for those who know me, would know that I would still go at my daughters first recital dance, and my answer was a little bit more deeply on the reason of why, but what I want to share with you is something that I did not thought until I read it in the post of some of my classmates. And that is to still going at your daughters event, send one of your employees to fulfill the needs of your customer, having him knowing that your employee would do the same thing that you would if you were present in that moment.  The other thing was that you should always develop a trust relationship with all your customers and not let any of them to unrespect you in that manner nether you should.  But I think of having someone to represent yourself in any situation in your company is a great idea!!
Here is the other case:
It is the night of your seven-year-old daughter’s first dance recital. You have been promising her for weeks that you “wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
An hour before the show, the phone rings, and it is your largest customer. There has been a fire at his plant, and he wants you there immediately. He will not accept anyone else and makes it clear that you will lose his business if you do not come.
What do you do?

I hope some of you can share with me what you would do.

Best
Emilio.

WEEK 10

Week 9

From the talk The Challenge to Become from Elder Dallin H. Oaks Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from The Church of Jesus Christ of the Later Saints
“In contrast to the institutions of the world, which teach us to know something, the gospel of Jesus Christ challenges us to become something”.
I learned that conversion is through all our life, and not only for a moment or at the beginning of our journey in the church, for example I am a convert to the church and I thought I was converted to the gospel already, but in this talk he explains what really conversion means  and how we can accomplish it.
Also from it I realize why some people get to know the gospel at young age and others in their old, and this is because the type of life that each of us have, and the preparation that we need in order to be in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

This week I had my interview with an entrepreneur which happen to be my mentor too.
From this interview I learned many things, but one of the most important is to ask questions, and that is right if we want something we need to ask for it, we need to seek for it, and what a better way to so it by getting prepare asking the right questions, but it is not only to ask the right questions but also to ask them to the right people.

I also saw the importance of not only having one mentor, but to find more.  I tough that with one would have been enough but what I saw was that even my mentor had many and that helped him to see things from a different way.
By talking with my mentor I saw that what I want to do it is truly possible, I just need to really leasing and truly be willing to act, and stop procrastinating.  For me faith means action and if I do not have action I am nothing and is that what I will accomplish.
